Job Search
The Robert Walters search engine allows you to search for jobs using a combination of keyword searching, location, type of work AND/OR specialisation. Within the job search option you also have the option to further refine your search using the additional refinement search.
Keyword Tips
Keyword searching means you can search for a specific word or string of words in a database. Keywords can be anything including a job title or skill, the name of an industry or company, or a location. Examples include programmer, SAP, ACA, London, human resources, marketing, fund accounting, etc. This is useful when you have a specific job title or skills you are looking for.
The keyword search on the Robert Walters site is based on a ranking system. The more times a word appears in an advert the higher in the search it will rank. Jobs where the keywords appear in the job title rank higher in the job search than adverts that have the key words appearing in the body of the text.
Examples of keyword searching
with all of the words :
Example: Fund Accountant
Find job adverts, which contain both the words fund AND accountant, but not necessarily next to each other. The search engine treats the space as an "AND".
with the exact phrase :
Example: "Fund Accountant"
This finds job adverts, which contain the phrase "fund accountant".
Example: Sales OR Marketing
Finds job adverts containing either the word "sales" or the word "marketing", but not necessarily next to each other
Using a combination search :
Example: "Fund Accountant" AND Insurance
Finds job adverts which contain both the words fund accountant and insurance, but not necessarily next to each other.
