Senior Systems Engineer
Due to progressive growth and an increased workload, a position has become vacant for a Senior Systems Engineer in a well respected long established company.
The primary objective for this role is design, implement, manage and operate the online and back office infrastructure to meet all business requirements and SLA's for the IT systems.
The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, administration, security, performance monitoring, back-up /recovery of the technology assets belonging to the company.
Good communication and strong social skills are important.
A practical knowledge of the following technologies are essential to the role:
* VMware vShpere 4 and Citrix XenServer virtualization platforms
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing, maintaining and supporting IT infrastructure using Microsoft, HP, Citrix, VMWare, Cisco technologies
* Strong practical knowledge of Exchange and Active Directory
* IPv4 and IPv6 and DNA. DHCP, WINS
* Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7
* Microsoft SQL
* Good working knowledge and experience with SAN storage systems
* Nortel and Cisco networking
* Windows and Exchange Server
* Server hardware, specifically HP DL and BL series
The suitable candidate will possess the following:
* A minimum of 3 years work experience as a Systems Engineer/Administrator
* Tertiary education with relevant field from a reputable institute
* Mentorship ability
* Team leadership experience
* Strong communication skills
* Outstanding customer service and high work ethics.
* Ability to proactively monitor, analyse and report on servers with a view to optimise performance
