Strong Banking & Financial Services Performers to Receive Significant Salary Increases in 2011
Banking and financial services institutions will grow headcounts and increase salaries in 2011 due to improving market conditions, according to a Global Salary Survey recently compiled by international recruitment consultancy Robert Walters.
The annual Salary Survey reports that pay reviews will be highly pertinent in 2011, however only the strongest performers are likely to receive significant salary increases.
The survey also reports that the majority of institutions will increase headcounts, but many will continue to take a cautious approach to hiring and focus on recruiting quality rather than quantity. As a result, competition will be fierce for high-calibre candidates.
In addition, Robert Walters’ Managing Director – Australia, James Nicholson, says that rising market confidence will lead to more candidates entering the job market.
“We expect that more professionals will be looking to pursue new opportunities in 2011, after putting their job search on hold during the global financial crisis. In particular, we predict that turnover in the Sydney market in early 2011 will be at some of the highest levels we have seen.”
The survey found that banking and financial services institutions increased hiring levels throughout 2010 as trading conditions improved. Professionals most in demand included:
• Senior relationship managers and business development managers
• Analysts, internal auditors and finance managers
• Specialists with experience in financial analysis and modelling for forecasting
• Product control, technology finance and systems accounting specialists
• Project managers
