What you'll do:

As a Payroll Manager, you will play an integral role in coordinating the team responsible for processes on payroll and benefits delivery. You will work collaboratively with various teams to ensure timely, accurate, efficient payroll services that comply with legislative, industrial, and policy requirements. Your role will involve managing outcomes from internal and external audits, including system procedure change and communications. You will also provide high-level advice, query resolution support, training, coaching to internal clients while maintaining security of both data and system configuration.

Manage and lead the operations of the Payroll and Benefits team, providing support, guidance, and capability building to team members.
Oversee the monitoring of legislative and ATO changes, adjusting payroll and benefits processes and systems to ensure compliance.
Contribute to improving payroll and benefits processes and systems in line with the strategic directions and goals.
Develop, streamline, and improve the payroll and benefits processes and systems with appropriate input and support from key stakeholders.
Roll out payroll and benefits process and systems improvements.
Interpret and apply policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
Identify, investigate, and resolve issues while clearing errors.
Accurately deliver high volume, complex payroll, superannuation, and salary packaging transactions.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Payroll Manager position brings substantial experience in payroll management along with excellent communication skills. You are known for your ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a collaborative environment. Your strong planning skills enable you to meet deadlines consistently. You have a proven track record in process improvement and service delivery, and your knowledge of payroll systems, particularly aPay, will be highly advantageous.

Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency in finance or related field.
Substantial experience in payroll management at an appropriate level.
Experience in process improvement and service delivery.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong planning and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to lead, manage staff effectively while fostering a collaborative environment.
Knowledge of aPay (previously Alesco and Ascender) payroll system would be advantageous.
