Accounts Payable Officer

This role offers the chance to utilise your skills in a fast-paced, challenging environment where you will be responsible for administering the accounts payable function, cash management function and providing support in areas of management and financial reporting.

  • Competitive salary: $30 - $32 plus Super per hour
  • 9 month contract
  • Convenient Sydney CBD location

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our client's finance department. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include overseeing invoice coding and authorisation, preparing and processing payments promptly, maintaining vendor details, monitoring bank account balances, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. You will also provide invaluable support to the finance team in areas of management and financial reporting. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to meeting deadlines.

  • Administer the accounts payable function, including oversight of invoice coding and authorisation
  • Prepare and process payments within payment deadlines
  • Maintain vendor details and correspond with vendors as required
  • Monitor bank account details, signatories and balances
  • Prepare related balance sheet reconciliations including accounts payable, cash, and GST
  • Provide support to the finance team in areas of management and financial reporting


What you bring:

The ideal Accounts Payable Officer will bring a wealth of experience from previous roles in accounts payable or finance. You will have a relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification under your belt, along with at least two years' experience in a similar role. Proficiency in data entry and management is essential, as are strong Excel spreadsheet skills. Experience in commercial business is also necessary, with preference given to those who have worked in financial services. Above all else, you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
