Accounts Payable Officer

A leading organisation in Brisbane is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join their dedicated finance team. As an Accounts Payable Officer you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of the organisation by managing supplier invoices, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end processes. This industry leading organisation supports the resources sector in delivering major projects. This is a permanent full-time opportunity based in Brisbane.

What you'll do:

  • Process high volumes of supplier invoices with accuracy, ensuring all documentation complies with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions regularly, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly through effective communication with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of payments, credits, and outstanding balances using financial software systems, ensuring data integrity at all times.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reports, analysing account variances, and supporting the finance team in meeting deadlines.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies related to accounts payable procedures

What you'll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in accounts payable or similar finance roles within medium to large organisations where accuracy was paramount.
  • Proficiency in using financial software systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms for invoice processing and record management.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills both internal and external.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
