An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all aspects of the Accounts Receivable function, supporting the Finance team with other recurring, accounting and ad hoc tasks. What you'll do:
As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining an efficient AR system, managing the AR collection process and carrying out detailed reporting on AR. You will have the opportunity to showcase your problem-solving skills by investigating and resolving AR issues. Your excellent communication skills will be put to good use as you interact with AR customers. You will also be responsible for ensuring that commissions, rebates and external manager's fees are properly estimated, accrued and paid. Your meticulous attention to detail will be essential in carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and settling inter-company balances. You will also have the chance to contribute towards streamlining and automating processes within the department.
- Maintain an up-to-date AR system to facilitate on-time collection of debts
- Manage the AR collection process
- Carry out reporting on AR
- Investigate and resolve AR issues
- Communicate with AR customers
- Ensure that commissions, rebates and external manager's fees are properly estimated, accrued and paid.
- Balance sheet reconciliations which includes providing commentary to explain variances and full ownership to resolution of all necessary follow up action to ensure that any reconciliation variances are cleared.
- Settlement of inter-company balances
- Proactively determine opportunities to streamline and/or automate processes
- Provide support for the half year, interim and year-end audit processes
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Accounts Receivable Specialist role will bring extensive experience from a similar finance role. You will possess sound bookkeeping skills along with a good knowledge and understanding of key business processes. Your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, will enable you to effectively communicate with AR customers and resolve any issues that may arise. You will have strong Microsoft skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, and exposure to accounting software packages such as SAP By Design. Your ability to organise and prioritise work in a fast-paced environment will be crucial in this role.
