What you'll do:

As a Senior Tax Advisor, you'll play a crucial role in providing high-quality technical advice while managing the Australian reporting obligations for GST and Insurance Duty. You'll have the opportunity to offer timely, customer-focused advice on indirect tax risks/issues, contribute to the preparation of material position papers, champion process improvement initiatives, and adhere to Group tax risk appetite statement and governance standards. Building and maintaining strategic business relationships across the group will also be a key aspect of your role. As well as the above, expect to get working on the following:

• Provide timely, customer-focused advice for indirect tax risks/issues
• Minimise active ATO and revenue body attention through proactive relationship management strategies
• Contribute to preparation of material position papers for review by the Manager – GST or Head of Tax
• Champion process improvement and change management initiatives
• Adhere to Group tax risk appetite statement and governance standards
• Maintain current knowledge of tax issues and developments
• Grow and maintain strategic business relationships across the group and with advisers, ATO, revenue and industry bodies

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Tax Advisor role brings a wealth of experience in indirect tax or corporate tax work, ideally within a large corporate or big 4 firm. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Law is a must, and a postgraduate qualification such as CA, CPA, or Masters of Taxation would be highly desirable. Your demonstrated tax consulting and advice experience, coupled with your advanced analytical and reasoning skills, will set you apart.
