An exciting and uniqueopportunity has arisen for a Chief Finance Officer to join a highly respected Queensland Government organisation, for an initial 12 month FTC.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a small finance team.
  • Deliver high level strategic financial advice and direction.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of objectives through effective strategic, business and financial planning processes.
  • Monitor the implementation of consistent financial management and related risk management practices.
  • Produce fit-for-purpose financial reporting and performance to established governance committees.
  • Direct the annual budget and forward estimates process.
  • Liaise with and represent in negotiations with central agencies and key stakeholders regarding finance related matters.
  • Prepare and oversee the delivery of budget submissions, briefing notes, documents, reports, costing methodologies and correspondence on a range of complex financial management and budgeting issues.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required.

What you'll bring:

  • Ability to think critically, pro-actively, and outside-the-box.
  • Capability to build enduring relationships for collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
  • Experience in maintaining high standard practice through governance and risk management.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive workplace where health, safety and wellbeing is promoted and prioritised.
  • Prior experience in Queensland State Government highly regarded.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
