Our client is seeking a seasoned Responsible Manager with a strong background in risk mitigation and regulatory compliance. This role is pivotal in assisting a rapidly growing fintech company in obtaining an Australian Financial Service Licence. The successful candidate will be part of a forward-thinking organisation that values originality, forward-thinking, and offers flexible working conditions.
What you'll do:
As the Responsible Manager, your primary role will be to oversee risk and compliance activities within the organisation. You will play a crucial role in assisting the company to obtain an Australian Financial Service Licence. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing oversight and challenging the application of Compliance Management Frameworks. Furthermore, you will advise business partners, including senior management, on these frameworks. Your responsibilities also include updating and drafting compliance policies and procedures according to relevant prudential standards.
• Oversee 1st and 2nd line Risk and Compliance activities as the Responsible Manager
• Assist with obtaining an Australian Financial Service Licence
• Provide oversight and challenge on application of Compliance Management Frameworks
• Advise business partners, including senior management, on the Compliance Management Framework
• Update and draft compliance policies and procedures pertaining to the relevant prudential standards
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Responsible Manager position brings extensive knowledge of Compliance risk avoidance. You have experience in setting up or assisting in the setup of an AFSL. Your qualifications are likely to be in Law or a compliance management-related field. With 5-7 years' experience under your belt, preferably in Compliance or risk management, you have developed a strong working knowledge of compliance legislations, regulations, standards, and policies.
• In-depth knowledge of Compliance risk avoidance
• Experience in setting up or assisting in the set up of an AFSL
• Qualification in Law or compliance management related field
• 5-7 years’ experience, preferably in Compliance or risk management
• Strong working knowledge, and practical application of compliance legislations, regulations, standards and policies
