An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Receivable/Credit Controller to join a dynamic team in the picturesque region of McLaren Vale. This part-time, 3-month contract role focuses on debt collection and chasing, with a low volume of invoicing. The successful candidate will thrive in a structured environment and be passionate about maintaining financial health through effective credit control.

What you'll do:

As an Accounts Receivable and Credit Controller, your primary focus will be on debt collection and chasing. You will manage the accounts receivable process, conduct regular reviews of customer accounts, communicate effectively with clients, maintain accurate records, collaborate with internal departments, prepare regular reports, assist with account reconciliation, and contribute to process improvement. Your commitment to maintaining financial health through effective credit control will be key to your success in this role.

  • Manage and oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts.
  • Conduct regular reviews of customer accounts to identify overdue payments and proactively follow up to secure payment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve payment issues and negotiate payment plans if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities and customer communications.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address billing discrepancies and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the status of accounts receivable and aging analysis to management.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of accounts and support month-end closing activities as needed.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit control processes and procedures.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accounts Receivable and Credit Controller position brings proven experience in accounts receivable or credit control. You have a strong understanding of debt collection techniques and best practices. Your excellent communication skills enable you to negotiate effectively with clients. You are highly organised with strong attention to detail. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Your ability to work both independently and as part of a team will be crucial. A proactive approach to problem-solving is also required.

  • Proven experience in accounts receivable, credit control, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of debt collection techniques and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
