Financial Controller

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic and growing family office. This part-time, remote role offers the chance to be part of a close-knit, high-performance team where your contributions will directly impact financial strategies and operations. With a focus on excellence in financial control, reporting and compliance, this role provides the flexibility to work from anywhere while making a significant difference.

What you'll do:


As a Part-Time Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the financial operations of our Australia based family office. Your commitment to excellence in financial control, reporting, and compliance will be crucial in this role. You will have the opportunity to liaise effectively with family members and external advisors, providing strategic planning insights based on your strong background in finance and tax compliance. Your responsibilities will span across various areas including financial control, quarterly and monthly reporting, tax compliance, strategic planning, personal trust management, employment compliance calculation, investment support, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and bank payments
  • Oversee BAS and PAYG returns
  • Handle land and payroll tax obligations
  • Process monthly journals and bank reconciliations
  • Add and manage payments through banking and foreign exchange platforms
  • Oversee cash flow management, including banking operations, accounts payable, and managing Treasury Bills and term deposits.
  • Raise and track rental invoices for group held real estate.
  • Prepare quarterly and monthly accounts holding companies.
  • Develop and maintain 10-year financial forecasts for consolidated group companies.
  • Compile and prepare quarterly family reporting meeting packs.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in financial management within a family office or similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of tax compliance, asset structuring, and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in financial software and IT systems
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with family members and external advisors
  • Ability to work independently managing multiple responsibilities with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with multi-jurisdictional financial and regulatory environment
