Team Leader - Management Reporting and Analysis

The University of Adelaide is seeking a Team Leader of Management Reporting and Analysis within their operational finance function. As a senior member within the finance function, you will be an experienced leader with proven abilities to manage a team of finance professionals to deliver best practice management accounting, internal reporting and planning processes.

The Team leader of Management Reporting and Analysis is integral to the delivery of integrated, outcome-oriented financial services to University’s schools and branches. Key elements of this role include providing management reporting and insightful analysis, lead the budgeting and forecast process and being a trusted advisor of the delivery of accurate financial data.

Reporting to the Manager of Management Accounting and Reporting, responsibilities of this role include:

• Undertake all day to day management of the Management Reporting and Analysis team to ensure the team delivers to required deadlines
• Manage all staffing matters including mentoring, training, development, on going feedback and performance reviews for the Management Reporting and Analysis team
• Lead a range of management reporting and analysis services to assist schools and branches with specialist business planning
• Support the development of reporting systems and processes to enable detailed analysis of actuals against budget and forecast
• Lead the design of operational management reports that are clear and purposeful and enable stakeholders to make informed decisions based on key cost and revenue levers
• Co-ordinate and lead the consolidation of budgets and forecasts for schools and branches of the University
• Provide stakeholders with timely, insightful and forward looking advice to assist with the operational needs of management including financial modelling for new business outcomes
• Identify areas for improvement and partnering with stakeholders to improve efficiency

Key Requirements:

• Relevant University Degree relating to the execution of financial data and advise (Accounting, Finance or Economics)
• CA and CPA qualified or extensive relevant career experience
• Demonstrated experience and ability to lead a high performing team and work collaboratively to achieve required outcomes
• Experience providing subject matter financial expertise to inform financial decision making by stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in leading the development and oversight of budgets and forecasts.
• Demonstrated experience communicating, both verbally and in writing, in a succinct, professional and responsive manner to deliver results to key stakeholders
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple high-level functions with competing priorities and deadlines
