Our Client is one of Australia’s larger member-owned banks and they are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant for an initial 6 month fixed term. The Financial Accountant will be an experienced professional with proven problem-solving skills. You will be flexible in your approach and will ensure that key business outcomes are achieved.

• 6- Month fixed term position
• Melbourne based role with flexible work culture

Your Responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing annual financial reports and income tax returns
• Assist with looking after the general ledger
• Perform month-end reporting, including the preparation of BAS returns
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual APRA returns
• Ensure that accounting processes and procedures comply with regulatory standards
• Review work practices and processes, and suggest improvements
• Manage internal relationships to ensure business continuity

Key Skills and Experience:

• Experience working in a Financial Accounting role within the financial Services sector is the ideal scenario
• Excellent communication skills and team player attitude goes without saying
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, highly desired
• Experience with Sun Systems highly desirable but not essential
• CPA or CA desired unless qualified by industry
