An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive Financial Accountant and Analyst to join a dynamic finance team within one of the world's largest manufacturers and marketers of basic apparel brands. This role offers the chance to leverage your accounting skills while providing high-quality financial information to both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on team player with a 'can do' attitude, ready to take on the responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet.

Your tasks and responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant/Analyst, you will play an integral role within the finance team. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the accuracy and completeness of designated areas of the P&L and balance sheet. You will also be tasked with conducting timely month-end journals, performing balance sheet reconciliations, supporting forecasting and budgeting processes, liaising with external audit, and performing ad hoc financial analysis as required. Your ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner will be essential in helping business leaders manage and analyse their expenditure performance.

  • Ensure timely completion of month-end journals
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations
  • Conduct P&L and balance sheet analysis
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Liaise with external audit and perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
  • Present financial information in a clear and concise manner to help business leaders manage and analyse their expenditure performance

Your profile

The position requires a critical thinking and continuous improvement mindset, with an ability to identify and implement system and process improvements to drive improvements in efficiency's within the finance team.

  • A Degree in Accounting or Finance, CA/CPA qualified or studying towards
  • Previous experience in an accounting/finance role, you have to know your debits and credits and how to navigate your way around Excel and a bunch of other accounting systems
  • Strong communication skills with the natural ability to build stakeholder relationships
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative
  • Strong time management with an ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
