Senior Financial Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team in North Sydney. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Finance team and will be involved in all finance activities related to reinsurance. This role provides an excellent opportunity for career progression and development within a supportive and inclusive environment.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the facultative reinsurance portfolio
  • Manage the offshore team to complete the facultative reinsurance premiums payments and claims recoveries process
  • Attend to complex scheme reconciliations and provide relevant guidance and assistance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as 2IC to the Head of Department
  • Represent the Finance Reinsurance team in all meetings where the Head of Department is unavailable
  • Monthly settlement of treaty reinsurance
  • Monthly management of relevant balance sheet minutes
  • Compilation and analysis of Regional reporting requirements


What you bring:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ insurance / reinsurance experience
  • CA / CPA qualification preferred
  • Previous use of SAPIENS or other integrated reinsurance systems would be beneficial
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve in a time sensitive and pressured environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Exposure to TM1 or Alteryx is preferable
