Senior Accountant

This role requires a mix of audit-level precision, financial accounting experience, and a solid understanding of compliance and reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing:
🔍 Reviewing contracts and grants – Identifying key financial requirements and ensuring compliance.
📊 Preparing financial statements and grant acquittals – Ensuring accuracy in reporting for external funding.
⚖️ Liaising with auditors – Coordinating grant audits and ensuring findings are addressed.
🛠 Managing financial systems – Maintaining the grants module within the finance system.
🤝 Providing strategic support – Advising internal teams and researchers on grant reporting and compliance.

What You’ll Need:
✔️ A robust audit background (public practice or internal) OR experience in grant reporting across multiple funding types.
✔️ 1-2 years of financial accounting experience on top of your audit/grant expertise.
✔️ Strong attention to detail – You’ll be working with complex agreements, so accuracy is key.
✔️ Process-driven mindset – You enjoy working within structured guidelines and ensuring compliance.
✔️ A degree in Commerce, Business, or Accounting + CA/CPA (or working towards it).
