Own the financial engine, work closely with a high-calibre ex-Big 4 leader and build toward long-term growth as the business continues to scale. The Opportunity

This is a newly created role born from growth. The business has scaled from zero to over twenty-three sites, 5 hubs, in just five years, with national revenue now at $200m and expected to reach $250m in the near future. With high volumes, acquired entities and legacy processes to clean up, the Financial Accountant will play a key part in improving how finance operates day to day and setting the stage for what comes next.

The Leadership Team

You will report to a technically sharp and commercially minded Finance Manager who previously trained in Big 4 audit. She has been with the business for five years and is clear on what success looks like. Her style is structured, fair and hands-on when needed. If you care about your work and enjoy over delivering you'll get on like a house on fire with her.

The Team Culture

The team is lean, driven and genuine. Admin handles accounts payable and receivable, payroll sits in HR, and corporate has around thirty staff based in your office with 610 nationally in operations. There are no egos, just a strong focus on doing the work right and building solid foundations for the future growth journey they are currently on.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for the preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and monthly management reports, ensuring effective comparison with budgets.
• Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger, maintaining compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
• Manage the preparation and lodgement of monthly BAS.
• Maintenance of various company register including fixed assets, property, rebates and leases
• Liaise with external stakeholders including financial institution, auditors, and taxation authorities to ensure regulatory compliance
• Assist with evaluating financial and operational implications of business initiatives, projects, and investments.
• Assist with preparation of the annual Budget including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, by engaging with key business management.
• Prepare periodic financial forecasts on an ongoing basis.
• Monitor and report performance against budget.
• Support ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting requirements as needed.

Who You Are

• Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant with at least four years experience
• Well-trained in accounting standards and month-end delivery
• Comfortable working in lean teams with ownership of key tasks
• Excel confident with exposure to Xero preferred
• CA or CPA preferred but not essential
• Looking for a stable, structured and supported environment to grow in
