An exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant based in Albany for a well known financial organisation offering growth
Key Responsibilities
Compliance
-
Prepare complete financial statements and tax returns for all entity types, including companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.

Prepare advanced Business Activity Statements (BAS), including PAYG instalment calculations and variations.
-
Process Division 7A loan accounts, including workpapers and minimum repayment calculations.
-
Process prepayments and employee contributions.
-
Apply Small Business Entity (SBE) Capital Gains Tax concessions.
-
Reconcile complex inter-entity loan accounts.
-
Analyse issues and identify potential risks impacting businesses.
-
Assist with the purchase and sale of businesses.
-
Prepare budgets, productivity reports, cash flow forecasts, and other advisory documentation.
-
Prepare tax estimates and provide tax planning options.
-
Research tax-related queries and provide practical solutions.
Client Relationship Management
-
Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding their tax and financial position.
-
Keep clients informed of legislative and tax developments affecting their business.
-
Independently liaise with clients to respond to queries and explain technical tax and accounting concepts.
Advisory
-
Draft complex correspondence and formal recommendations to clients.
-
Provide advice on tax strategies, business activities, and projected future revenues and expenses.

Recommend and implement improvements to client internal procedures.
-
Lead client meetings alongside Managers or Partners when required.

Provide a range of additional business services as required.
Other
-
Maintain working knowledge of various accounting software packages.
-
Attend professional development and training sessions.
-
Stay up to date with legislation and taxation developments impacting clients.
-
Undertake other duties as required.

Qualifications and Competencies
Experience
-
5+ year's experience in accounting within a public practice environment.
-
Experience managing and servicing a portfolio of clients.
Skills and Knowledge
-
Completion of an accounting qualification.
-
CPA or CA qualification, or currently working towards completion (desirable).
-
Strong knowledge of accounting and tax compliance.
-
Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
-
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
-
High level of attention to detail.
-
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
-
Ability to independently resolve complex technical and procedural matters.

Strong research capabilities.
-
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in a range of accounting software applications.
