Investment Officer (6-month Contract)

Our client is on the hunt for a highly skilled and analytical Investment Officer to join their dynamic finance team. This role requires a strong background in accounting and finance, with a focus on financial modelling and complex reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Excel and possess the ability to analyse and interpret financial data to support investment decisions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in Adelaide CBD, where you'll be part of a supportive team that values your expertise.

What you'll do:

As an Investment Officer, your primary role will be to utilise your strong background in accounting and finance to drive investment decisions. You will be responsible for developing complex financial models in Excel, conducting scenario analysis, analysing financial data, preparing detailed reports, performing complex reconciliations, conducting market research, staying updated on industry developments, collaborating with the finance team, and providing analytical support. Your ability to interpret complex financial data will be key in this role.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models in Excel to support investment analysis and decision-making processes.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to forecast financial outcomes and assess potential risks and returns on investments.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that could impact investment performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Perform complex reconciliations of investment accounts and financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulations.


What you bring:

The ideal Investment Officer will bring a wealth of experience from a similar role. You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field along with relevant professional experience. Your proven track record in financial modelling and complex reconciliations will be highly regarded. Familiarity with investment principles and financial markets will be advantageous. Your strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and team-oriented approach will set you apart.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and financial modelling techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in the context of data reconciliation and financial analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
