Senior Financial Analyst

This is a role for someone who’s half finance detective, half systems fixer. You’ll spend your time doing two very different—but equally valuable—things: Helping defend a major ASX-listed business in high-stakes JV audit disputes, and Making finance systems better, faster, and less arduous.

What’s the actual job?

Part of a large oil & gas company, this role is split down the middle:

🔍 One half is all about sourcing, reviewing, and organising documentation that can stand up in a legal context. You’ll dig through SharePoint, SAP, Coupa, old Oracle archives, network drives, and maybe even someone’s dusty inbox to find the one document that settles a million-dollar argument.

You’ll work closely with the Legal and Finance teams to make sure this company is armed and ready when JV partners come knocking.

⚙️ The other half is continuous improvement.
You’ll help eliminate clunky processes, improve data standardisation, and automate the annoying stuff so the finance team can get back to doing actual analysis—not spreadsheet gymnastics.

You’ll be a key player in system transformation projects that affect the way this company works across the region.

What you’ll need to bring:

• 5+ years in accounting or finance—ideally in the resources industry
• An understanding of JV accounting and audit practices—and knowledge of how to sniff out key financial info fast
• Strong Excel skills (we’re talking INDEX-MATCH and pivot tables at a minimum)
• Solid SAP knowledge and comfort navigating enterprise systems (Oracle, Coupa etc.)
• Sharp analytical thinking, problem-solving instincts, and a bit of stubborn persistence
• CA/CPA qualified, and comfortable translating finance-speak into plain English for legal and business teams
