An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Analyst to join a highly respected organisation based in the heart of Sydney CBD. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact by providing insightful financial analysis and supporting key commercial decisions that drive business success. * Package of $100,000 * Hybrid role * Sydney CBD

What you'll do:

  • Lead, organise, and support a team in preparing monthly and quarterly client financial reports, including spend activity analysis, KPI reviews, and detailed commentary.
  • Foster dependable client relationships by responding to inquiries, providing ongoing support, and delivering insightful reports and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Create engaging data visualisation tools such as charts and graphs to present complex information in accessible formats for clients.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of all data by verifying sources, performing thorough cleansing processes, and resolving any inconsistencies identified.
  • Champion continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to reporting processes that increase efficiency and improve data quality across the division.
  • Develop, implement, and review comprehensive internal management reporting packs containing both financial and statistical information to assist operational performance.
  • Maintain robust internal compliance control systems while conducting financial investigations and audits as required.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring all client obligations are fulfilled for new placements made by recruitment consultants under preferred supplier agreements.
  • Liaise closely with account managers and senior staff regarding consultant compliance levels to ensure best practice standards are met.
  • Check rates processed internally against specific preferred supplier agreements to guarantee revenue recognition requirements are satisfied for permanent placements.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in analytical roles with proven problem-solving abilities that enable you to identify issues early and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to extract meaningful trends from large sets of financial data and communicate these findings clearly across different areas of the business.
  • A commercially focused mindset with sound understanding of accounting principles and their impact on overall business profitability.
  • CA or CPA qualification is highly desirable but not essential; candidates with equivalent experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills that allow you to build trust with clients as well as collaborate effectively within diverse teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data visualisation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills enabling comfortable interaction at all organisational levels.
  • Experience developing internal management reporting packs containing both financial statistics and operational insights.
  • Proven track record maintaining compliance control systems within commercial operations environments.
  • Ability to suggest improvements in reporting processes that enhance efficiency while upholding high standards of data quality.
