Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join their team in Brisbane. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage all finance and accounting operations, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide leadership to the accounting/finance team. The successful candidate will have the chance to revamp accounts payable systems, coordinate external audits, and work closely with senior management. What you'll do:

As a Senior Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing all finance and accounting operations. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be utilised as you revamp accounts payable systems and processes. You will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records through efficient accounting processes. Your strong interpersonal skills will come into play as you supervise and mentor the accounting/finance team. Additionally, your commitment to compliance will be demonstrated as you ensure adherence to financial regulations, implement internal controls, and coordinate external audits.

  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
  • Ensure accuracy of financial records and efficient accounting processes
  • Revamp Accounts payable systems and process
  • Audit / review of Fixed Asset Register
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, government bodies and tax requirements
  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls and policies including full balance sheet reconciliations
  • Coordinate external audit and manage relationship with auditors
  • Supervise and mentor the accounting/finance team

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Financial Controller position brings a wealth of experience in managing finance and accounting operations. Your strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards will be crucial in this role. You have proven experience in preparing budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy of financial records through efficient accounting processes, revamping accounts payable systems, auditing/reviewing Fixed Asset Register, implementing internal controls, coordinating external audits, supervising teams, collaborating with other departments on financial matters.

  • Proven experience in managing finance and accounting operations
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting standards
  • Experience in preparing budgets and financial forecasts
  • Ability to ensure accuracy of financial records through efficient accounting processes
  • Experience in revamping accounts payable systems and processes
  • Experience in auditing/reviewing Fixed Asset Register
  • Proven ability to implement internal financial controls and policies
  • Experience in coordinating external audits
