An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and strategic Finance Director to join a leading organisation in Sydney. This part-time role offers flexibility and the chance to work with a diverse team of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial oversight across multiple entities, including cash flow management, financial reporting, compliance, investment monitoring, and operational improvements. This is an ideal role for someone looking to utilise their finance expertise in a flexible working environment.

What you'll do:

As a Finance Director, your role will be pivotal in managing the financial oversight for both private mortgage lending and a private family office. You will be involved in cash flow management, financial reporting, treasury functions, compliance, investment monitoring, and operational improvements across multiple entities. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be utilised as you work closely with the bookkeeper, accountant, external advisors, and other stakeholders to ensure all financial matters are handled professionally and efficiently.

  • Work closely with the bookkeeper and accounting firm to oversee all statutory filings and annual tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements for all entities.
  • Prepare quarterly financial accounts for all operating entities and liaise with accountants to finalise annual accounts.
  • Monitor cash balances across entities and banks, ensuring excess funds are optimally invested.
  • Manage third-party IT and software systems, optimising license fees and financial technology integration's.
  • Coordinate with tax advisers on tax strategy, asset structuring, and regulatory considerations.


What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Finance Director role will bring a wealth of experience in similar roles. You will have strong knowledge of corporate governance requirements and proven experience in preparing financial accounts. Your ability to monitor cash balances across entities and banks will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your experience managing third-party IT and software systems will be beneficial. Your understanding of tax strategy, asset structuring, and regulatory considerations will set you apart from other candidates.
