This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a high-impact and visible team as a Business Analyst within Financial Planning & Performance, supporting one of Australia’s most recognised retail brands.
What you'll do:
- Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports with a focus on analysing business performance across multiple dimensions.
- Support the development and execution of the annual strategic financial plan by providing detailed analysis that drives informed decision-making and sustainable growth.
- Assist with capital management forecasting and reporting activities, including supporting the creation and evaluation of robust business cases for investment initiatives.
- Synthesise large volumes of data from various sources into actionable insights that tell compelling stories about business performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to support effective cost centre expenditure management and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Drive process improvements by introducing innovative analytical techniques, enhancing system efficiencies, and streamlining existing workflows within the finance function.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas where financial analysis can add value and contribute to broader organisational goals.
- Ensure all financial outputs are simple, structured, accurate, and robust by applying best practices in data modelling and analysis.
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to diverse audiences while managing competing priorities in a fast-evolving environment.
What you bring:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial or commercial role—ideally within a retail environment—demonstrating your ability to navigate complex business landscapes.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA or CIMA (or currently working towards these).
- Proven experience in planning and reporting functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance reporting that showcase your attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace tools; familiarity with SAP is considered advantageous for integrating data from multiple systems.
- Exceptional data analysis and modelling skills enabling you to interpret large datasets from diverse sources into meaningful insights for decision-makers.
- A methodical approach that ensures all deliverables are simple yet structured, accurate, robust, and tailored for their intended audience.
- Outstanding communication abilities allowing you to convey complex financial concepts clearly across different levels of the organisation while balancing multiple priorities effectively.
