An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accountant to join a dynamic team in Melbourne CBD, on an initial 6 month contract. This role offers the chance to utilise your accounting skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.

As an Accountant, you will play a key role within the finance team.

Your day to day:

  • Month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts
  • Handle bookkeeping functions including day-to-day financial transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Assist with payroll functions including monthly payroll and employee expense reimbursement processing.
  • Help prepare monthly cash flow statements and budgets.
  • Analyse market trends to maximise profits and find expansion opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with taxation laws

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Big 4 (or second tier firm) background is desirable
  • Proven experience as an Accountant or similar role
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with relevant software (e.g. SAP)
  • Excellent mathematical skills; attention to detail; analytical mindset
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
