About the role:

As an Assistant Accountant, your primary focus will be supporting the finance team across a broad spectrum of accounting and finance activities. Your day-to-day tasks will involve general ledger processing, management reporting, corporate restructuring, assisting with financial statements, tax returns, and collaborating with global finance teams. This role provides a unique opportunity to grow your career in accounting, gain exposure to international finance operations, and develop your skills within an Australian consolidated group operating as a Managed Investment Trust (MIT).

• Support the finance team across various accounting and finance activities
• Assist with general ledger processing and management reporting
• Participate in corporate restructuring and preparation of financial statements and tax returns
• Process accounts receivable and payable accurately and timely
• Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities
• Prepare and analyse financial reports and statements
• Assist with internal and external audits

About you:

The ideal candidate for this Assistant Accountant position brings a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, excellent attention to detail, and a desire to grow within a global organisation. You’ll have the opportunity to work both independently and as part of a supportive team, gaining exposure to various facets of accounting and finance.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Career driven and self-motivated
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (XERO, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle experience helpful)
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
