This is an exciting opportunity to join a proudly South Australian-owned organisation in the construction industry. Based in a convenient city-fringe location, this full-time, permanent role offers the chance to become part of a highly collaborative and dynamic finance team. As an Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting both project and management accounting activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project and management accounting activities across multiple divisions.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure monthly forecasts are completed and perform profit take-ups.
  • Provide divisional managers with insights on monthly profit take-up and forecasting outcomes
  • Monitor accurate cost code usage aligned with project activities.
  • Prepare detailed reports and analyses on labor and equipment utilisation and efficiency.
  • Analyse project reports and conduct variance analysis
  • Prepare account reconciliations and support in conducting full profit & loss reviews, effectively reporting variances.
  • Post all necessary journals for divisions, including monthly accruals.
  • Prepare month-end management reporting packs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support year-end audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.

Skills Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment (preferred).
  • A hands-on approach with a willingness to engage in all aspects of the business.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and reporting frameworks.
