Commercial Accountant

Our client is on the brink of a transformative phase, preparing to launch their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. They are seeking a proficient Commercial Accountant to join their team. This role is pivotal in steering them through the implementation of their new ERP system - Microsoft Dynamics, while managing their existing system. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and strategic insight to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics to improve accounting processes and integrate them seamlessly with inventory and manufacturing systems.
  • Help maintain a budgeting and forecasting model that supports multiple currencies.
  • Supervise all aspects of accounts payable, including processing invoices and conducting compliance checks for GST.
  • Oversee the sales invoicing and accounts receivable process, ensuring compliance with GST regulations and effective cash flow management.
  • Manage payroll operations, ensuring compliance with current laws and accurate payment processing.
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting, maintain the fixed asset register, and manage inventory costing processes to accurately report cost of goods sold.
  • Aid in the preparation of BAS returns, GST reconciliations, and various general ledger reconciliations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Site Manager in understanding how site operations impact accounting outcomes.
  • Provide operational support to the Financial Controller of another business unit, assisting with administrative and accounting tasks

About you:

  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting, including a solid understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting and additional qualifications from an accredited institution.
  • Capability to navigate complex accounting issues, with meticulous attention to detail and a strategic problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the confidence to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
  • Collaborative mindset, willing to work closely with the accounts team and other departments to drive the company's financial success.
  • Openness to embrace new challenges and acquire new skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to generate and analyse financial reports.
