Senior Management Accountant - Government

This role offers an exciting opportunity to take the lead in budget forecasting, financial performance monitoring, and managing a range of transactions. You will be instrumental in providing specialist advice, promoting best practices within the team, and supporting business improvements.

  • Initial 12 month contract

About the role:

  • Assist with the preparation of budget forecasts and monitor financial performance
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial processing in SAP across a range of transactions
  • Provide support in processing financial transactions pertaining to contractual payments and receipts
  • Prepare purchase orders and provide purchasing advice in accordance with Government Policies and Procedures
  • Liaise with internal and external clients regarding order details, funds availability, and delivery requirements
  • Undertake research, analysis, and evaluation to provide specialist advice on infrastructure, planning, and asset management related issues
  • Support business improvements and provide support to managers and team members to implement improvement within the team
  • Prioritise workload to ensure services and programs are delivered within required timeframes
  • Ad-hoc duties as required

About you:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Management Accountant
  • Strong experience using PowerBI is essential
  • Strong knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Excellent understanding of budget forecasting techniques
  • Ability to process financial transactions accurately and timely
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with internal and external clients
  • Ability to undertake research, analysis, and evaluation effectively
  • Commitment towards promoting best practices within the team
