About the role:

• The Accountant position, reporting directly to the Management Accountant, is a newly created role within the dynamic finance team at AAL. The role requires the successful candidate to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records and contribute to informing financial decision making. The Accountant will have exposure to multiple business units, teams and projects across AAL and will have the opportunity to develop their skillset through working with a range of highly skilled professionals from varying technical backgrounds.
• The Accountant position requires the successful candidate to be enthusiastic, self-starting and with a willingness to learn and develop in a growing commercial business.
• Responsibilities will include:
• Work closely with the Management Accountant to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of the monthly management accounts and reports.
• Processing of journal entries and monitoring the invoicing and recovery of accruals and month end journals.
• Work with business units (collaborating with the Management Accountant) to provide monthly analysis and insights of Business Unit performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to projects that require financial expertise.
• Assist Accounts Receivable Officer with reconciliation of Airline payments and communication to Aviation Commercial Manager if required.
• Liaising with and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders on projects.

Key requirements to be successful in this role:

• Degree qualifications or final year of Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CA or CPA qualification, working towards qualification or aspirations to complete.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office programs.
