What you'll do:

As a Payroll Officer, you will be an integral part of our client's People Services team. You will work collaboratively on various payroll projects, ensuring that regular operations are not affected. Your role will involve delivering reliable and accurate payroll support, maintaining up-to-date employee records, and assisting with audit recommendations. You will also play a crucial role in helping the organisation meet its taxation, superannuation, and other legislative obligations. Building positive relationships with key stakeholders within the company will be essential for your success in this role.

  • Support with the delivery of payroll projects to ensure business as usual payroll activities are segregated for project and process improvement
  • Delivery of reliable and accurate payroll support to deliver high quality, accurate pay
  • Ensure employee data and related records are updated to reflect changes
  • Support with the delivery of audit recommendations including payroll reconciliation, data remediation, superannuation
  • Assist the organisation to meet its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations
  • Develop positive relationships with key People & Culture stakeholders as well as field and office-based staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and conduct in line with company values and policies
  • Proactively champion process improvements


What you bring:

The ideal Payroll Officer brings significant experience from working in large complex organisations. A degree in finance or HR or a related discipline would be advantageous but not essential. You should have experience working in a high-volume transactional environment and possess knowledge of contemporary Payroll/HR practices and tools including HRIS systems & data analytics. Your ability to work with excel and your outstanding attention to detail will be key to your success in this role. Experience in delivering compliant services including governance and controls is also required.

  • Previous experience as a payroll officer in a large complex organisation is essential
  • Degree in finance HR or related discipline is desirable
  • Experience in a high-volume transactional environment is required
  • Knowledge of contemporary Payroll/HR practices and tools including HRIS systems & data analytics is necessary
  • Good capability with excel and outstanding attention to detail is expected
  • Experience in delivering services that are compliant including governance and controls is needed
