Our client, a trailblazer in their industry, is on the hunt for a proficient Payroll Officer to join their vibrant team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to leverage your iChris expertise and contribute to the ongoing triumph of a company renowned for its dedication to excellence and innovation. As a Payroll Officer, you'll be at the heart of managing and enhancing payroll processes, ensuring all employees are compensated accurately and punctually. This full-time, permanent position is based in the CBD.

What you'll do:

As a Payroll Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operation of the company's payroll processes. You'll oversee comprehensive payroll processing using iChris, guaranteeing prompt and precise payment for all employees. Your meticulous attention to detail will be instrumental in preserving and updating payroll records, while your comprehension of company policies, employment laws, and tax regulations will ensure adherence across all processes. Beyond these responsibilities, you'll produce and scrutinise payroll reports, offering valuable insights that can guide decision-making within the company. Your problem-solving skills will come into play as you address and rectify any payroll-related issues that arise. Teamwork is also a key aspect of this role as you collaborate effectively with HR and finance teams to synchronise payroll processes with overall business operations.

  • Oversee comprehensive payroll processing using iChris, including computation of wages, deductions, and benefits.
  • Preserve and update payroll records, ensuring data accuracy within the iChris system.
  • Uphold compliance with company policies, employment laws, and tax regulations.
  • Produce and scrutinise payroll reports, providing insights based on data.
  • Address and rectify payroll-related issues promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with HR and finance teams to synchronise payroll processes with business operations.
  • Manage and troubleshoot the iChris payroll system.
  • Being point of contact for all employees for all payroll topics/issues.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Payroll Officer position brings demonstrated experience in similar roles along with practical experience using iChris software. A degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field would be advantageous. You possess a solid understanding of payroll regulations and best practices which you apply consistently in your work. Your proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and iChris payroll system enables you to perform your duties efficiently. Your attention to detail is impeccable, ensuring precision in all aspects of payroll processing and reporting. Furthermore, your strong interpersonal skills equip you to handle confidential information professionally.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Payroll Officer with practical experience using iChris software (1-2 years).
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Solid understanding of payroll regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and iChris payroll system.
  • High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of payroll processing and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to handle confidential information professionally.
