HR/Payroll Officer

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Officer to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to manage the weekly payroll process for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. In addition to payroll responsibilities, this position also encompasses basic Human Resources functions, including administrative tasks, recruitment processes, and management of Workcover claims.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the weekly payroll process for all employees
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Handle basic Human Resources functions such as administrative tasks, recruitment processes, and management of Workcover claims
  • Oversee the administration of leave applications
  • Prepare banking requirements for timely payment of wages and superannuation
  • Interpret and analyse industrial awards and salary information
  • Assist in preparing forecasts and budgets for wages for management reporting
  • Coordinate the recruitment and selection process
  • Develop monthly and annual Human Resources metrics reports

What you bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in Payroll Management, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing and HR functions
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and/or HR Management System
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Sound writing and reporting skills
