Part-time Payroll Accountant

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Payroll Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. Their ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with experience managing payroll and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage a monthly payroll for all employees
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation, calculation, and distribution of payroll
  • Maintain payroll records, employee details, and compliance with local tax laws and regulations
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
  • Prepare and submit payroll tax filings, including end-of-year tax reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., HR, Finance)
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee data
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and assist in the month-end closing process

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Accountant or in a similar payroll processing role
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax laws, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
  • Experience in multi-state or international payroll processing (preferred but not required)
  • Accounting qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA) or relevant payroll certification is a plus
