Multiple Payroll Opportunities

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Payroll Officer and Payroll Officer to join their team. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to provide efficient and effective payroll services to a large workforce. The successful candidates will have the chance to work in a supportive environment, with a focus on professional growth and development. The role involves weekly payroll functions, data analysis, report writing, exposure to project work and providing training and support to the payroll team.

What you will do:

  • Conduct exception checking and run payroll efficiently and accurately, adhering to deadlines and updating reports as needed.
  • Process new starter documentation promptly and ensure accurate setup in the payroll system, aligning remuneration with employment contracts.
  • Accurately and timely process payroll cycles, including salary increases, leave entitlements, and termination payments, in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative requirements impacting payroll and ensure all processes align with these regulations.
  • Review fortnightly payroll data for accuracy and collaborate with service managers to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Respond promptly to payroll queries, including award interpretation and system advice, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Offer training and support to payroll team members on system processes and procedures, developing comprehensive training materials.
  • Document payroll and system-related procedures and maintain checklists to ensure consistency and completeness in processing.
  • Prepare and distribute clear and accurate reports as required, utilising them to identify trends and areas for improvement.

What you will bring:

  • Experience in a similar high-volume payroll role
  • Knowledge of payroll-related legislation including superannuation, tax, and Fair Work
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Demonstrated operational experience and technical skills across the payroll ambit.
  • Ability to analyse and understand data, resulting in the provision of data driven insights.
  • Excellent organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Exceptional learning agility and an openness to asking questions.
