Payroll Officer

This position will play a key role in providing day-to-day payroll support, responding to employee enquiries and assisting with payroll processing and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage the payroll inbox, responding to employee and manager enquiries in a timely and professional manner

  • Handle basic payroll queries, including:

    • Resetting user login details

    • Responding to common payroll and system “how-to” questions

    • Triaging and reviewing basic payroll errors and escalating where required

  • Follow up with employees and managers regarding missing, incomplete or incorrect timesheets

  • Escalate unresolved or complex timesheet issues to the Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Officer

  • Assist with onboarding new employees into the payroll system, ensuring accurate data capture from employment agreements

  • Support onboarding and data entry in the HRIS

  • Assist with checking and validating reports from the external payroll provider

  • Support payroll compliance requirements and assist with audits, reporting and data checks

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation

  • Provide general administrative support to the Payroll team as required

About You:

  • Previous experience in a payroll or payroll support role

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach

  • Confident communicating with employees and managers

  • Comfortable working with payroll systems and HRIS platforms

  • A team-oriented approach with a willingness to learn and support others
