A leading global clean energy solutions provider is seeking a dedicated Payroll and Human Resources Officer to join their passionate team in Manly, NSW. Hybrid working model and flexible hours.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar Payroll position within Australia where you have supported both administrative functions and payroll processing responsibilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australian payroll processes including PAYG withholding tax calculations, superannuation contributions, payroll tax obligations, Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting requirements, and compliance best practices.
  • Familiarity with Employment Hero or similar HRIS/payroll software is highly desirable but not essential; willingness to learn new systems is important as full training will be provided.
  • Proven ability to calculate wages accurately—including deductions—and reconcile payments using Microsoft Excel or equivalent tools for reporting purposes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that enable you to liaise professionally with employees at all levels while resolving queries promptly.
  • Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail; able to prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising accuracy or deadlines.
  • Experience working collaboratively within a fast-paced environment where adaptability is valued alongside reliability.
  • A proactive approach towards improving HR processes or enhancing employee experience through thoughtful suggestions or participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies in payroll data methodically while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture through empathetic interactions with colleagues.

What you'll do:

  • Oversee the payroll function for Australian employees—including processing timesheets, calculating wages, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, superannuation payments—and preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end benefit statements.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to the Human Resources department, ensuring all daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process by managing candidate communications, conducting phone screenings, shortlisting applicants for hiring managers, scheduling interviews, and coordinating pre-employment checks for successful candidates.
  • Take ownership of onboarding new hires by facilitating induction processes and handling all offboarding requirements for departing employees with care and attention to detail.
  • Manage budgets for Learning and Development initiatives across the business when organised by the People and Culture team, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.Contribute actively to ad-hoc HR projects such as Employee Engagement surveys, Performance Review Cycles, and other learning or development activities that enhance organisational culture.
  • Deliver on company ambitions related to culture by supporting employee engagement initiatives, wellbeing programmes, and activities that strengthen team bonds.
  • Help build a supportive work environment by assisting employees and candidates with completing records accurately within Employment Hero and Keypay systems.
  • Maintain accurate employee data by updating records regularly in relevant HRIS platforms while ensuring compliance with privacy standards
