Senior Project Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to support their large-scale construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in complex and dynamic projects and work with a team of experienced stakeholders in the construction industry. With a key focus on cash flow management, budgeting, and financial forecasting, you will work closely with project managers and key stakeholders to ensure financial success throughout each phase of delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash Flow Management: Oversee and report on project cash flow, ensuring that funding is efficiently managed to meet project milestones.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and maintain comprehensive project budgets and financial forecasts. Analyse variances and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports, providing insights into project profitability, cost performance, and risk analysis.
• Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures, identify areas of potential savings, and ensure that costs align with the approved budget.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with project managers, external contractors, and internal teams to offer financial advice and recommendations.
• Contract & Compliance: Review and manage project contracts, ensuring compliance with financial standards and regulations.
• Risk Analysis: Identify financial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, advising on strategies to mitigate risks and maximise profitability.
• Support to Project Teams: Act as a financial advisor to project teams, helping ensure that all financial aspects of the projects are well-managed and transparent.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA/CA qualified.
• Strong experience in project accounting within the construction industry.
• Expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships at all levels.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects concurrently.
