Systems Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement through systems, primarily financial systems, to achieve best practice business processes and maintain the integrity of the company's ERP system.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Systems Accountant, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the smooth operation of our client's financial systems. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining ERP, financial, and other key business systems. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying continuous improvement strategies to streamline processes wherever possible. You will also play a significant role in managing system improvements, including implementing new modules, enhancing existing systems, and carrying out necessary upgrades. Your ability to foster collaborative relationships across the business will be essential in driving continuous improvement.

• Manage and maintain ERP, financial and other key business systems including reporting and updating the ERP in line with changes in company structure
• Identify and drive continuous improvement strategies through systems to streamline and automate where possible
• Manage system improvements including implementation of new modules and systems and enhancements, upgrades and customisations to existing systems
• Assist stakeholders to identify and execute business system improvement opportunities including performing business case justification, identifying objectives and analysing options, benefits, risks and opportunities
• Foster collaborative relationships across the business to drive continuous improvement
• Ensure integrity and day to day running of ERP system
• Maintain ERP user access, internal controls and updates and maintains PRAS approvals in accordance with latest organisation structure and delegation of authority
• Educate and support key users and personnel with systems training and appropriate documentation

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Systems Accountant position brings a wealth of experience in managing financial systems. You possess a CA or CPA qualification or equivalent, coupled with experience within mining or a similar industry. Your proficiency with Pronto or similar ERP systems sets you apart from others. With your advanced financial systems and reporting skills, you have successfully implemented financial systems or carried out system upgrades in previous roles. Your excellent communication skills enable you to influence key business decisions effectively and efficiently.

• CA or CPA or equivalent qualification is required
• Experience within mining or a similar industry would be seen as an advantage
• Pronto or similar ERP system experience
• Experience implementing financial systems or carrying out system upgrades
• Advanced financial systems and reporting skills
• Demonstrate 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An efficient and effective ability to influence key business decisions
