Accountability and Governance Lead

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Accountability and Governance Lead to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Director of Regulatory and Governance on the management of entity and individual accountable persons duties under the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR) and its related remuneration standard CPS 511. The successful candidate will be instrumental in managing legal requirements under FAR and 511, providing specialised guidance, and leading compliance learning initiatives.

Responsibility:

• Identify and manage the legal requirements in the establishment of the FAR Office.
• Manage the establishment of the FAR Reasonable Steps Framework.
• Lead on the identification and recording of each AP FAR obligations.
• Consolidate and write initial FAR related Board papers for review.
• Create compliance learning for FAR obligations.
• Provide specialised support guidance to executive leaders on the ongoing FAR reasonable steps process.
• Act as the internal regulatory compliance SME.
• Rewrite accountability statements for newly appointed Accountable Persons (APs).
• Maintain the FAR register, entity accountability map and reporting obligations.
• Support the FAR Breach reporting process.

Requirements:

• University level qualifications in law, risk or business.
• Experience in regulatory compliance or governance within a large financial services organisation.
• Ability to interpret regulation and draft formal corporate documentation.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral.
• Prior knowledge of BEAR and FAR is desirable but not essential.
• Sound working knowledge of Regulatory and Governance legal frameworks.
• Solid understanding of compliance environment relating to FAR.
• Ability to manage deliverables with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
• Strong technical skills in regulatory/legal and compliance.
