Executive Manager- Compliance
We are seeking an experienced Executive Compliance Manager for an international bank to support the Branch Compliance Head in overseeing regulatory compliance for the branch. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the integrity of the compliance framework and providing expert advisory support to the business and key stakeholders.
What you will do:

Maintaining compliance manuals, policies, and procedures within the Compliance Department’s remit

Conducting annual and periodic risk assessments for the Branch
-
Undertaking compliance reviews across:
-
AML / CFT / Sanctions
-
Financial Services Regulations
-
Privacy and other financial services laws
-
-
Performing ongoing compliance monitoring and surveillance activities
-
Preparing regular and ad hoc compliance reports for internal and external stakeholders
-
Providing compliance advisory services to business and support functions
-
Delivering and promoting regulatory training and awareness for branch staff
-
Contributing to the development of the Compliance Department and its team members
-
Providing cover and support for other compliance staff as required
-
Responding to ad hoc compliance requests from senior management
What you bring:
-
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in banking regulatory compliance, risk management, or a legal function (first line, second line, or consulting background)

Strong understanding of institutional and corporate banking products and services
-
Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
-
Demonstrated ability to appropriately challenge the first line on regulatory obligations and respond constructively to challenge from stakeholders

Strong knowledge of:
-
APRA prudential standards
-
ASIC AFSL regulatory requirements
-
Key Australian legislation, including the Banking Act, FAR, Corporations Act, and APRA standards

Ability to research, interpret, and apply new regulations, products, or regulatory requirements
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
-
Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
-
High level of integrity, discretion, and professional ethics
-
Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, risk management, law, or a related discipline
Advantageous:
-
Experience dealing with key banking regulators, including APRA, ASIC, or AUSTRAC
-
Prior experience in compliance management for Foreign ADIs
