As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and assessing creditworthiness for mid-market commercial property transactions and construction finance projects. Your expertise will be essential in conducting comprehensive financial analyses, risk assessments, and due diligence to ensure the profitability and soundness of credit decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate finance, construction finance, and credit analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate Creditworthiness: Assess the creditworthiness of mid-market commercial property transactions and construction finance projects by analyzing financial statements, historical data, projections, industry trends, and other relevant factors.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including cash flow analysis, balance sheet analysis, and financial ratio analysis, to evaluate the borrower's financial health, debt capacity, and ability to meet obligations.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate credit risks associated with commercial property transactions and construction finance, considering factors such as market conditions, collateral quality, construction timelines, borrower's credit history, and regulatory compliance.
• Due Diligence: Perform thorough due diligence, including property valuation analysis, title review, environmental assessments, and construction cost analysis, to ensure accurate risk assessment and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Credit Structuring: Collaborate with relationship managers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to structure credit facilities, determining appropriate terms, conditions, and covenants based on risk assessment and borrower's needs.
• Credit Proposals: Prepare comprehensive credit proposals, including credit memos, risk rating assessments, and mitigation strategies, for submission to credit committees or senior management.
• Documentation Review: Review and analyze legal documentation, loan agreements, security documents, and other relevant contracts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Monitoring and Portfolio Management: Monitor the performance of existing commercial property loans and construction finance projects, conduct periodic reviews, and provide recommendations for any necessary modifications, extensions, or collections.
• Market and Industry Research: Stay updated with market trends, industry developments, regulatory changes, and economic indicators that may impact credit quality or risk profiles.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriters, relationship managers, and legal counsel, to ensure effective communication, coordination, and risk management throughout the credit approval process.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (CFA, CPA) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial real estate finance, construction finance, or a related field. Experience with mid-market commercial property transactions is highly desirable.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial analysis techniques, credit risk assessment, commercial real estate market dynamics, and construction finance principles.
• Analytical Skills: Proficient in financial modeling, cash flow analysis, risk assessment, and interpreting complex financial data.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial real estate market trends, construction industry dynamics, lending regulations, and underwriting standards.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to review complex documentation and identify potential risks or issues.
