Operations Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager to join a dynamic and growing international bank. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the bank, bringing expertise in corporate lending to influence all policies and procedures. This role offers an exceptional platform to leverage your expertise in optimising processes, implementing policies and procedures, and coordinating activities across different departments to achieve organisational objectives.

What you'll do:
As an Operations Manager, you will be at the heart of the client's operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee all operational activities within the bank. This role requires a "hands-on" candidate with at least five years' experience in corporate loans, specifically opening accounts, remittance, lending and settlements.

You will supervise account processing, transaction management, customer service while also identifying areas for improvement. Your role will involve developing strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity.

The role does not require previous people management experience and will initially not involve managing a team however as the operations team looks to grow over the next six months this will change. You will work with one junior colleague and report to the Operating Team Head from Taiwan.

  • Monitor daily operations to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Develop, update, and enforce operational policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Identify and assess operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and minimise exposure to operational losses
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and update operational processes accordingly
  • Collaborate with IT department to leverage technology solutions for streamlining operations, enhancing customer experience, and improving overall efficiency
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of banking software systems and ensure proper integration with existing infrastructure
  • Ensure high standards of customer service delivery by addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and maintaining a customer-centric approach in all operational processes

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Operations Manager position brings a wealth of experience in banking operations, particularly in corporate banking. You will have a strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices. Proficiency in banking software systems and Microsoft Office Suite is essential for this role. An analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities will be key to your success in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance or related field is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking operations, with a focus on corporate banking is essential
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and risk management practices is necessary
  • Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial
