Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Investment Analyst to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the sourcing, analysis, underwriting and structuring of credit proposals in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will also be responsible for performing due diligence, loan management and key stakeholder relationship management. This position is based in Sydney, Australia.

What you'll do:

As an Investment Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our client's investment team. You will be primarily responsible for overseeing the sourcing, analysis, underwriting and structuring of credit proposals. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting senior investment managers in undertaking due diligence and financial analysis for potential credit proposals. You will also assist the investment team in identifying new loan opportunities. Your strong communication skills will be essential as you work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the credit application process. Your role will also involve managing ongoing loans within the existing portfolio.

  • Support Senior Investment Managers and Investment Managers in undertaking relevant due diligence, project feasibility and financial analysis for potential credit proposals
  • Assist Investment Team to identify, underwrite, negotiate, structure and prepare indicative term sheet for new loan opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders, covering end-to-end credit application process to close the deal
  • Collaborate with Credit Team in preparing detailed and succinct credit proposals and presenting to Credit Committee
  • Manage ongoing loans for existing loan portfolio including: Analysis of monthly QS progress reports, liaising with stakeholders and provision of progress payments
  • Handle full and partial discharges, variations and consents, conditions subsequent and general administration
  • Manage relationships with external key stakeholders and borrower, including third party referral partners/brokers, external legal consultants and potential borrowers


What you bring:

The ideal Investment Analyst candidate will bring a wealth of experience and skills to the role. You will have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in commerce, business, property or another related field. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills will be matched by your superior attention to detail. You will have excellent financial analysis and interpretation skills, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Your commitment to collaboration and teamwork will be evident in your strong stakeholder management skills. You will also have excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and multi-task.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher education qualification in commerce, business , property or other related field
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in related field; candidates with banking / non-bank , finance and/or property experience will be preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with superior attention to detail
  • Strong financial analysis and interpretation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to articulate and present critical arguments
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Excellent time management skills with good prioritization practices; ability to multi-task effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications suite
  • High integrity with a fit and proper track record; ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to make a difference through continuous improvement of processes, templates, tools and procedures with an aspiration for self-development
