Overview
As a Director, you will take primary ownership of senior client relationships, drive new business origination, and lead the execution of sophisticated corporate finance transactions. You will operate as a trusted advisor to clients and an internal leader, contributing to strategy, risk stewardship and the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Origination
- Own and lead senior client relationships across corporate, infrastructure and institutional-grade borrowers
- Originate new business opportunities through deep networks and proactive market engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients across sectors including renewables, transport, utilities and public-private partnerships
- Drive growth of a high-quality, sustainable lending portfolio aligned with strategic priorities
Transaction Execution
- Lead the origination, structuring, due diligence, approval and execution of complex corporate finance transactions
- Arrange and execute bilateral, club and syndicated facilities across a range of capital structures
- Provide strategic oversight of financial analysis, credit submissions and transaction documentation
- Represent the bank in negotiations with clients, advisors and co-lenders
Portfolio & Risk Management
- Maintain full accountability for portfolio performance, credit quality and risk outcomes
- Proactively identify emerging risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies
- Ensure portfolio composition is well-balanced across sectors, geographies and risk profiles
- Uphold strong credit discipline and governance standards
Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as a senior contributor within the corporate banking team, mentoring and developing junior bankers
- Collaborate closely with product partners, risk, legal and execution teams to deliver seamless client outcomes
- Contribute to broader business strategy, sector insights and internal initiatives
- Represent the bank with professionalism and credibility in external forums and industry engagement
About You
- Significant experience within Australia’s corporate or institutional banking sector
- Proven track record of originating and executing complex corporate finance transactions
- Established client network across corporate, infrastructure or project-linked sectors
- Strong commercial judgement with disciplined credit and risk assessment capabilities
- Demonstrated experience managing sizeable and diverse loan portfolios
- Confident engaging with senior executives, boards, sponsors and public sector stakeholders
- Strong leadership capability with a collaborative, mentoring mindset
Key Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, commerce or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in corporate banking, project finance or structured lending
- Deep understanding of credit structuring, documentation and approval processes
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capability
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong governance mindset with the ability to balance risk and commercial outcomes
