Senior Fund Accountant
As a Senior Fund Accountant within this highly regarded financial services group, you will immerse yourself in a varied role that combines technical expertise with relationship management. Your day-to-day activities will see you preparing complex financial deliverables such as NAVs, reporting packs, BASs/GST returns, distribution calculations and financial statements within Alternative Equities —all while collaborating closely with stakeholders across the business.
What you bring:
To excel as a Senior Fund Accountant in this environment, you will bring proven experience gained within fund administration or related financial roles—ideally supported by tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting and exposure to alternative equities. Your technical acumen will be matched by your ability to communicate clearly with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
You thrive when working collaboratively but are equally comfortable managing tasks independently when needed. Your approach is detail-oriented yet adaptable; you embrace change positively while always striving for excellence in client service delivery.
A genuine interest in compliance matters means you stay up-to-date on regulatory developments affecting the sector—and can explain these changes effectively to others. Your interpersonal skills foster trust among colleagues at all levels while your hands-on attitude ensures no task is too small if it contributes towards shared success.
- At least 3 + years experience in general fund accounting—experience with alternatives, hedge or property funds is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Sound understanding of core accounting principles enables you to deliver high-quality outputs across all aspects of fund administration.
- Proven ability to implement project work both collaboratively within teams and independently when required ensures adaptability across different scenarios.
- Excellent analytical skills allow you to identify discrepancies quickly while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Strong commercial awareness helps you understand broader business impacts of your work beyond immediate deliverables.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills enable clear interactions with clients, colleagues and external partners alike.
- Specialist industry knowledge (such as advanced Excel proficiency or familiarity with Word/PowerPoint) is highly regarded for streamlining reporting processes.
- A collaborative working style combined with initiative ensures you contribute positively to team goals while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
- Exposure to Alternative Assets is highly desirable
