Senior Business Development Manager - Managed Accounts

Our client is a fast growing boutique fund manager specialising in offering bespoke investment solutions to their high net worth client base. The firm has a suite of separately managed accounts with excellent track record over the past 7 years, and the firm is looking to hire a Senior Business Development Manager to lead the firms distribution efforts and accelerate growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across the broader wealth and advice market, building strong client relationships, and enhancing their market presence. This role is ideal for a motivated professional with a proven track record in business development within the wealth channel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Acquisition: Identify and pursue new business opportunities with IFAs, financial advisors, and dealer groups, focusing on offering SMAs.
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their investment needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for growth.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with financial advisors, wealth managers, and other key stakeholders to drive business development.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective sales strategies and campaigns to achieve business growth targets.
  • Presentation and Pitching: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and pitches to prospective clients and partners.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the investment team to ensure alignment of business development efforts with the firm’s investment strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within the financial services industry, with a focus on the wealth market (IFAs, financial advisors, dealer groups)
  • Strong understanding of separately managed accounts (SMAs) and investment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of initiative, drive, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
