A leading financial institution in Sydney CBD is seeking a Funds Transfer Specialist to join their dedicated team. This role offers an attractive daily rate of $380 - $410 plus superannuation, providing you with the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment where your attention to detail and commitment to teamwork will be highly valued. * $380 - $410 + Super Per Day * Sydney CBD * Hybrid working

What you'll do:

  • Process funds transfer or settlement instructions with precision and timeliness to ensure strict adherence to payment cut-off times and service level agreements.
  • Escalate any issues promptly as needed, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining operational excellence within the team.
  • Investigate discrepancies in cash processing activities, performing settlements and reconciliations with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Monitor payment processing applications consistently, reviewing and validating payments submitted through various channels such as wire transfers or account transactions.
  • Identify and flag any issues arising from payment mechanisms, conducting thorough production validation to maintain accuracy.
  • Research and resolve complex transactional inquiries efficiently, providing clear communication and solutions for internal stakeholders.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements by completing compliance monitoring and reporting tasks as required by industry standards.
  • Serve as an escalation point for data processing concerns, offering valuable input on quality improvement processes within the department.
  • Take responsibility for the quality and completion of your own work while supporting actionable tasks assigned by senior team members or managers.
  • Participate actively in business initiatives including new projects, contributing to user acceptance testing when required.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience of 2-3 years in financial services or payment processing roles is preferred, showcasing your reliability in similar environments.
  • A high school or secondary school qualification is essential; holding a bachelor’s degree is considered advantageous for further growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills that foster collaboration among team members and facilitate effective problem-solving across departments.
  • Strong organisational abilities paired with proven teamwork skills that enable you to manage multiple priorities during high-volume days.
  • Outstanding attention to detail ensures accuracy in every transaction processed within tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local payments systems such as Austraclear is highly desirable for seamless integration into existing workflows.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT payment systems would be beneficial for handling international transactions efficiently.
  • Effective time management skills empower you to oversee end-to-end processes even during peak periods without compromising quality.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new concepts combined with a positive 'Can Do' attitude supports ongoing professional development within the team.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours allows you to provide support during later shifts when required by business needs.
