A great opportunity to join a large domestic bank in a leadership position. The Internal Audit Director is responsible for setting up the audit strategy for delivering project assurance for the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulating and managing the audit risk assessment for your domain, and implementing the annual audit plan.
• Cultivating robust stakeholder relationships.
• Ensure all appropriate remediation testing is performed.
• Communicating progress and findings to Management, contributing to the Group Audit reports for the Board and its Committees.
• Supporting or addressing inquiries from APRA, other key regulators, and the businesses external auditor.
• Implementing the Group Audit’s vision and priorities.
• Fulfilling the role of a People Leader by providing regular feedback, coaching, and professional guidance within the businesses framework. Offering individual career development advice and opportunities.
• Sustaining a team operating within a high-performance environment.
• Adhering to the businesses Code of Conduct and Values.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years in internal audit, project risk or assurance experience.
• Extensive financial services experience.
• Prior experience implementing an internal audit strategy, specifically for projects.
• Strong communication experience, both written and oral.
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience.
• Proven leadership capability and prior team management experience.
